I spelled it with the 'ie' just to confuse any tittlejotters, and because it's a name not a title, duh.
The name does not refer to lifestyle, , or viewpoint, or spiritual ANYTHING. It may have something to with pigment, but what? Your imagination always furnishes richer reply than prosaic fact. We love being generic dark folk for this reason.

Simon, D&D is not as much fun as you'd imagine. You spend way too much time slogging around through dungeon mazes and rolling dice, and if your Dungeon Master is a sadistic bastard (and PD is the most sadistic DM in history I think) then you spend a lot of time trying to find ways to get resurrected or healed or out of some idiot jam.
I'd rather read a ripping fantasy book than spend all that time rolling dice to see how hard I have hit a giant purple worm.

Watchtower fantasies of eternal life in paradise are just that... FANTASIES. Try getting some balls and live the life you've been given without whinging about how you don't wanna die. The most horrible part of Jdubdom is the utter waste of THIS life in pursuit of 'storing up treasures in heaven' which is about as useful as storing up farts!
Question for scared jdub: what did Jesus mean when he said 'the poor will be with you always'? How long is 'always' and what does this say about your alleged 'paradise' and its conditions if there will still be 'the poor' to tend to?
i've always been fascinated by the parallel between the concept of holograms on the tv show red dwarf, and the jws' view of the resurrection.
on red dwarf, a crew member has all their thoughts, knowledge and personality recorded by the ship's computers, so that if they die on the trip, a hologram of that crew member can be generated by the ship so that that crew member's knowledge and experience aren't lost.
this reminds me an awful lot of the 'tower's concept of resurrection.
Smeg makes a gorgeous red refrigerator, I'd LOVE to have that one so I could tell the kids to 'get the pitcher of tea out of the Red Dwarf'.

after all the deserved congratulations, lately heaped upon america and americans in tr's thread, i've been wondering about a few things, which i couldn't figure from the discussion.. 1.why do some feel the need to talk up the greatness of the us, when this fact seems so self-evident?
is it just the jingoism which comes along with a world empire?.
2. do any american's here feel embarrassed about their government's foreign policies regarding: the new international criminal court (presently trying miloshovic), the reneging on the kyoto carbon-reduction treaty, or the high hand taken on sdi?.
STILL trying to figure out what a yeast-based spread would taste like, and how anyone could get a kid to even TRY the stuff let alone ask for it.
